Legia Warszawa is a dominant Polish football club in the Polish Ekstraklasa league having won 12 league champions in its over 100-year history. The management of Legia observed that world-famous football clubs in the Champions League had mobile applications to provide their fans with a league table, player statistics, upcoming match schedules, news, videos and photos, statistics, ticketing, and more.
This project was important to Uptime given the high profile of Legia in Poland, and the number of Legia fans on staff at Uptime.
When the time came to select an IT firm to create a mobile application, Uptime was awarded the contract.
Representatives of Legia Warszawa met with Uptime to discuss the project including porting to iOS, Android, and Windows phone. There were concerns about the schedule, user experience, layout, appearance, and website-to-mobile application synchronization.
Uptime was able to develop all three mobile applications concurrently with native coding experts assigned to each mobile platform. Special attention was given to layout and appearance with Uptime’s graphic designers working closely with the development team.
The project schedule was met, and all three applications were released simultaneously and made available to Legia’s fans.
From just Google Play, there have been between 50,000-100,000 downloads with an average user rating of 4.5. If the other mobile platforms are added, the application has a large user base.
Legia’s fans are using the application, and the user rating indicates the fans are satisfied with the results of Uptime’s work!
